Training in Virginia

Currently Matt is training in Virgina. He has been there for a while already and has about 2 weeks left of the course he is reguired to take by the State dept. He is usally very busy and tired at the end of each day. It is difficult for us to find time to talk on the phone with the 3 hour time differnence and his shedule.

When his training is over he should deploy to Iraq right away. We will see though, he has some concerns that all his paperwork will not be ready. He hasn;t recived notification that his clearance has been finished. So we will see. More waiting to find out what happens.

Well will update when I have more info.

Bye for now,
Michelle

More pictures from Iraq #1

While Matt was home he shared with me pictures he had taken along the way to Iraq and while there. I thought I would put some of these up for you all to see. We have been calling this trip Iraq #1 due to him getting ready for #2.

Currently he is in Virginia Beach Virginia doing training with Blackwater. He has his PT test yesterday and of course passed, he was nervous about it! Today he is doing some shooting practice at the range Blackwater has on their compound in North Carolina.

It seems he will be there until the end of the month and then begin his journey back to the IZ, (International Zone) in Baghdad, Iraq. He will be doing a six month deployment there and then we plan to meet somewhere overseas. He will then complete one more 6 month contract with this company. Hopefully this experience is better than with the previous company. The accommodations and professionalism of the staff have already been a tremendous improvement.

While in Iraq, Matt will have his own airconditioned trailer. These trailers are much safer than the tent he was in previously.

I will keep you updated when he leaves from Virginia to go back to the Middle East.

Matt loves to get emails from you all so keep them coming!

You can also email me and I will forward it on to him!

Bye for now,
